About the role
Do you enjoy supporting users, finding technical solutions, and working as part of a close and supportive team? Then a Network & Security Principal Officer position with East Sussex County Council might be the perfect opportunity for you!
As a third line support team, we are here to support other IT staff and customers while they work in a flexible and agile way. Our large IT & Digital department supports customers across East Sussex County Council while working closely with our Orbis Partners in Surrey County Council and Brighton and Hove City Council.
You will need to record all work, keep customers informed of their service requests, prioritise your own workload, set customer expectations and work as part of a team to achieve your targets and objectives. You will provide an efficient and effective support of the network and security environment and back office infrastructure to the County Council.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Knowledge of Network environment(s) with good hardware and software skills especially with Cisco products.
- Knowledge of Firewall setup, configuration, and management.
- Knowledge of Wireless networking.
- Knowledge of Physical networking, cabling standards, racking.
- Knowledge of ITIL aligned organization.
- Knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting.
- Knowledge of Network devices physically and virtually linked.
- Knowledge of IPT solutions ideally cisco based products.
- Good interpersonal skills, and self-motivated.
- Analytical thinking.
- Ability to learn new skill.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
