
Year 5 Class Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Job introduction
The Governors of Rudyard Kipling Primary School and Nursery wish to appoint an inspiring, highly motivated and child centred teacher on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave.
Paid weeks per year: 52
Fixed term: 20 Feb 2027 (or earlier depending on maternity return date) to cover maternity leave
Start date: Monday 23 February 2026 or as soon after the successful candidate is able to start

You will:
- Be an inspirational teacher who loves to engage and inspire young minds inside the classroom and out

- Possess high expectations for every child in your class, including those with additional needs

- Acknowledge every child for the individual they are and be able to teach them accordingly
- Have a nurturing philosophy at the heart of your practice

- Wish to contribute to the school beyond the classroom and offer to lead a club
