    Our Values

At Coundon Primary School our key values are Responsibility, Respect, Resilience and Kindness. We are school who truly believes in our motto 'Together Everyone Achieves More'.

    What is the job role?

Coundon Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and creative teacher to join our team and support our innovative approach to Key Stage 1 learning. The position is initially fixed for 2 terms starting January 2026.

We have recently developed an exciting continuous provision environment from Reception into Year 1, designed to ensure a seamless transition and build on the strong foundations set in the Early Years. Working in partnership with Early Excellence, we have created a purposeful, engaging and child-centred learning space that promotes independence, curiosity and deep learning through high-quality provision and skilled adult interaction.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about early child development and ready to further develop this approach within Year 1. The successful candidate will play a key role in embedding and evolving our model, ensuring strong outcomes, while nurturing the whole child.

    Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:-

    • Is passionate about early learning and continuous provision
    • Understands the importance of a smooth transition from Reception to Year 1
    • Is excited by child-initiated learning and play-based pedagogy
    • Is reflective, proactive and eager to contribute to innovate practice
    • Has high expectations for all pupils and supports their emotional and academic development
    • Is committed to collaborative working and professional growth.

    We can offer:-

    • A well-resourced learning environment developed with Early Excellence
    • A supportive senior leadership team committed to research-informed practice
    • Opportunities for training and professional development in early learning and transition pedagogy
    • Engaged, enthusiastic children who love to learn
    • A friendly, dedicated and forward-thinking staff team.

    Essential:-

    • Qualified Teacher Status
    • A strong understanding of Early Years and/or Key Stage 1 practice

If you are a dynamic and passionate practitioner with a commitment to play-based learning and a drive to shape high quality-transition practice, we would love to hear from you.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged. To arrange a visit please contact the school office on 024 76592559 or admin@:coundon.coventry.sch.uk
