Rectory Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and creative Woodlands Lead Teacher (Assistant Headteacher L1 - L5) to join our friendly and committed team. Due to changes in our school structure, the Governors are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and nurturing leader
with a strong educational philosophy to join our happy church school. We are looking for someone flexible, creative
and ambitious, who is eager to make a real difference in children’s lives. The successful candidate will have excellent
interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work within — and lead — a dedicated and effective team.

This role includes taking a lead position within our Mainstream provision, with responsibility for curriculum development
and for driving high‑quality teaching and learning across the school. You will play a key role in shaping an engaging,
inclusive and ambitious curriculum that supports every pupil to achieve their full potential.


As a Church of England Primary School, it is essential that our new Woodland Lead can inspire and embody our Christian
ethos, champion our mission, and help create a learning environment where both staff and pupils can flourish.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about children and education and is able to inspire, nurture and motivate
  • Has a desire for improving life chances for children
  • Is committed to safeguarding the welfare and wellbeing of children, staff and visitors
  • Is a team player, an excellent communicator and networker
  • Has a good understanding of all 3 phases of primary school
  • Experience of teaching children with SEND and making a difference to their life chances
  • Has a clear and comprehensive knowledge of primary curriculum and assessment and can a play a lead role in raising achievement through research informed strategies
  • Is a flexible team player with a cheerful disposition.
  • Has a good sense of humour and is willing to ‘muck in’.
