MSP is one of 42 Active Partnerships across England working strategically to use movement, physical activity and sport as a way of improving people’s lives across the Liverpool City Region (LCR) with an equal, diverse and inclusive approach. Although MSP are hosted by Liverpool City Council our remit covers all six boroughs across our region.

    We come together weekly in Cunard Building with regular team and co-working days in venues across the region, all blended with homeworking. MSP are committed to flexible working, we trust you to work in a way that suits you and enables you to be your most productive and happy.

    The role:

    You’ll be a highly relational and proactive person with a strong systems approach mindset and a passion for tackling inequality and inequity. You will work as part of a team and be trusted to use your own initiative, build strong relationships, and represent MSP positively across the Liverpool City Region and nationally.

Are you confident facilitating conversations, workshops, and reflective learning spaces, and bold enough to challenge systemic barriers when needed? If the answer is yes, this could be your opportunity to join MSP and play a key role in shaping a sport and movement system that enables more women and girls to be active on their own terms.


    • Convene and support a wide network of partners across sport, health, education, community safety, and active environments to address barriers for women and girls
    • Build and nurture relationships with communities, local leaders, and system partners to co-create solutions rooted in lived experience
    • Lead through a systems approach to tackle structural, cultural, and systemic barriers to activity, ensuring equality and equity is central to decision-making
    • Embed national strategies, including the Brighton Plus Helsinki Declaration and Shaping Change: Women & Girls Leading Active Lives, into local practice
    • Facilitate learning, reflective practice, and storytelling to capture insight, celebrate successes, and share learning locally and nationally
    • Support partners to adopt a test and learn mindset and challenge assumptions to drive inclusion and equitable outcomes
    • Work with place partnerships across the Liverpool City Region to ensure opportunities for Women & Girls are integrated across local agendas, funding, and strategies
    • Collaborate with Violence Against Women, Girls networks and Active Travel teams to improve access to safe and inclusive spaces for physical activity
    • Influence strategies, funding decisions, and operational practice to remove barriers and create sustainable pathways for women and girls to move more on their own terms.
