Role: Welfare Assistant

Salary: Grade 3, SCP 2

FTE: £24,412 Actual Salary Pro-Rata: £18,525

Contract: Fixed-term basis, contingent on the 1:1 child remaining within the trust, potential to become permanent within the trust in the long term

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Start Date: February 2026

The Governors and Headteacher at Halton Lodge Nursery and Primary School wish to appoint a Welfare Assistant to support our KS2 team providing both 1:1 and class support. This position will be temporary in the first instance and is for 32.5 hours a week (5 days).

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience of working with children in KS2
• Experience of KS2 SATS would be an advantage, but not essential
• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childcare,
• Demonstrate high expectations of individual achievement and behaviour,
• Be creative, calm, caring and enthusiastic,
• Have good organisational and interpersonal skills,
• Have flair, talent and initiative,
• Demonstrate a commitment to raising standards.
• Be able to work in close partnership with the whole school community.
