To receive and investigate applications from people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness, ensuring that applicants housing and support needs are assessed and met in accordance with the Council’s statutory duties and policies.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Complete visits to temporary accommodation properties within the Dartford Borough and out of borough
• Meet with the families/individuals living in the temporary accommodation to gain update of their circumstances and offer support, guidance and assistance
• Produce a comprehensive visiting report and upload to the customers housing application and ensure robust data entry for statistical reporting purposes.
• Escalate any safeguarding concerns to management and report accordingly
• Investigate housing disrepair issues including damp and mould and report to temporary accommodation providers / Dartford Borough Council repairs team and follow up to ensure repairs are remedied
• Investigate complaints regarding temporary accommodation standards and liaise with temporary accommodation providers to escalate concerns
• Provide applicants with comprehensive advice on the full range of housing options available to them taking into account their needs and aspirations
• Work in partnership with the wider housing solutions team to create viable housing solutions that provide pathways into alternative housing where homelessness was not able to be prevented
• Develop and maintain close working relations with a broad cross-section of council services and partners in order to encourage joint working and secure the assistance and support that is required with applicants housing issues.

Interviews will take place between Monday 24th and Wednesday 26th November.
