We have an excellent opportunity for a Victim and Restorative Justice Practitioners to join our Prevention and Youth Justice Service Team here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a 12 month, Fixed-Term Contract, part time.
As Victim and Restorative Justice Practitioner, you will ensure all victims receive high quality, individualised and responsive support, promote restorative practice and help us keep victims and communities safe. You'll work within the Prevention and Youth Justice Service, contributing to building a culture of excellence in youth justice practice while championing equity, inclusion and trauma-responsive approaches throughout all aspects of case management and intervention delivery.
This role is varied: you will hold a victim caseload, which will require direct work with each victim; you will also work with youth justice practitioners to ensure victims' voice is heard and considered within children's assessments and plans; you will deliver victim and restorative practice workshops to the PYJS team and partners; you will have responsibility for delivering reparation with children and growing the reparation projects available; and you will support the participation stream by working closely with the CHildren and Victim advocates.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a collaborative, motivated professional with experience in supporting victims of crime, restorative practices and a preferable with a background in youth justice or criminal justice settings.

Key Responsibilities:
• To support the development of victim and restorative justice work, including all reparation activity and restorative justice meetings.
• To ensure victims views are considered as part of decision making processes and inform the interventions we deliver to children.
• To support develop the role of “child and victim advocate” to ensure it effectively contributes to service development and to provide guidance to the advocates.
• To keep timely, accurate and effective records for each case.
Candidate Requirements:
- Working with victims of crime and delivering restorative justice interventions.
- Knowledge and experience of systemic and trauma informed approaches to support children, families and victims
- Ability to work in a high paced environment, juggling various responsibilities simultaneously while working towards tight deadlines
- Manages own time and prioritises work and supports other colleagues to meet agreed deadlines

Whilst this is a fixed term contract appointment, for anyone already employed by Wokingham Borough Council this would be classed as a secondment if successful.
