Chelmsford City Council is looking for a Venue & Facilities Officer to support the smooth running of the Civic Centre. This varied role combines facilities management with meeting room and event support, helping ensure the building is safe, well maintained and welcoming for staff, visitors and customers.
The postholder will play a key part in coordinating meeting room bookings, supporting events, arranging room setups and ensuring excellent customer service at all times. They will also help to keep essential building systems running and assist with routine inspections.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, practical and confident working with people. Experience in facilities management or venue hire, an understanding of building related regulations and strong IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) are important. You’ll also be a calm communicator and someone who can stay focused under pressure. The role will require flexibility to work occasional early starts and late finishes as necessary and respond to issues as they arise.
You will be based primarily at the Civic Centre Offices in Chelmsford, but occasional travel to sites within the district may be required.
Interviews are currently scheduled for the week commencing 9th March.
