Planning Validation Administration Assistant

Part-time: 15 hours per week (Only over 2 days per week)

Hybrid working – minimum one day per week in the office.

Salary: £26,717 - £27,983 (will be pro-rata to 15 hours a week)

We are seeking a proactive and organised Planning Administration Assistant to support our Validation team in delivering high-quality services that support the wider planning department by registering and assessing planning applications. This is a key administrative role that ensures the smooth running of day-to-day operations, including case management, data entry and customer service.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide administrative support to the Validation Team.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases.
  • Monitor mailboxes
  • Setting up planning applications
  • Reconciling planning payments.
  • Respond to public enquiries via, email, phone, in person, offering excellent customer service.
  • Liaise with internal departments and members of the public to support service delivery.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a local authority or regulatory environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to manage sensitive data and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • A calm, adaptable, and customer-focused approach to your work.
  • Knowledge of Planning services is desirable; however, full training will be given.
