    Are you passionate in helping young people be the best they can be? Are you great at talking to young people and engaging them in activities and conversations?

    Barnsley’s BYouth Young People’s Service work with young people between the ages of 11-19 (and up to 25 for those with additional needs) who may need support in making a positive transition to adulthood, through youth work practice and approaches.

    The BYouth service provides positive leisure time opportunities for young people to get involved in whilst promoting their personal and social development, helping them to make a successful transition into young adulthood.

    Your role will be to assist in the delivery of issue based programmes using recreational activities and resources to support the engagement process.

    You will work as part of a team to provide young people with trusted adult role models to support positive choices and decision making as part of our local youth offer. The work will involve working regular evenings and can be building based or detached / outreach.


    We have a number of vacant sessional positions available operating Monday-Thursday evenings across a 38 week delivery calendar which is determined by the service. Successful candidates can be flexible in the number of evenings they wish to work up to a maximum of 12 hours / or 3 evenings per week.

    The post is peripatetic and can be deployed to locations across the Borough where there is an identified need.
