These roles are pivotal in ensuring that we deliver an exceptional service, strengthening our relationships with families, schools, and communities.
As part of the SEND & Inclusion Service you will deliver high outcomes for children and young people with SEND. You will foster a supportive, relational approach with families, schools, and education providers. As the Tribunal, Compliance & Mediation Team Leader, you will:
- Lead on all tribunal, mediation, and compliance processes, ensuring compliance with SEND legislation, statutory frameworks, and timescales.
- Represent Camden in SEND tribunals and lead strategic planning to improve services.
- Handle complex cases with potential legal and reputational risks, providing strategic reports to inform leadership decisions.
- Oversee all matters of compliance, including complaints, members’ enquiries, and pre-action protocols.
- Collaborate with schools and legal representatives to resolve cases, reducing the need for tribunal hearings.
- Manage and support a team of up to four, fostering capacity building and relational working.
- Deliver clear data analysis and strategic insights to influence service improvement.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience managing and representing a local authority in tribunals or formal hearings.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, policies, and tribunal processes.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and build capacity across SEND colleagues.
