    The Role
    We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Tree Officer to join our Landscape and Ecology Team. The post holder will deal with all aspects of the urban tree environment including administering the council’s tree maintenance contract, carrying out tree inspections and assessing the degree of hazard posed by trees. The post also includes advising the planning team on all aspects of tree protection and there is an opportunity to influence the developing green infrastructure of the borough.

    About You
    This is an exciting opportunity to develop your personal skill set whilst undertaking a wide range of tree management tasks.

    You will hold a Level 4 or above qualification in Arboriculture or equivalent degree in a related subject, as well as post qualification experience. It would be an advantage if you have, or will be willing to, obtain a Professional Tree Inspector qualification.

    You will be willing to work across a broad area of tree management and support the wider interests of the borough’s Tree Wardens. You will be experienced in using IT applications for arboriculture such as Ezytreev and GIS systems. You will work collaboratively developing working relationships with colleagues, external partners and members of the public. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

    This role is hybrid working with the expectation to attend the office a minimum of two days a week, dependent on service requirements.

    The ability to converse with ease with other staff and members of the public and to provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for this post.

    The post holder must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle to be able to travel around the borough for site visits and inspections.
