
Transport Delivery Project Manager
We are looking to recruit 2 Transport Project Managers, one on a permanent basis and one on a fixed term/secondment basis for up to 3 years (covering a secondment)

Your new role
As a Transport Delivery Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of strategic and high‑profile transport projects across Portsmouth. This includes work in areas such as digitalisation, active travel, road safety, parking management and future transport solutions such as electric vehicle infrastructure.
You will take ownership of projects from initiation through to closure, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard. Working within a matrix management approach, you will provide clear governance, financial control, risk management and performance reporting to Programme Managers across the Transport service.
Who is the person summary:
You will be an experienced project manager with strong reporting, communication and stakeholder management skills. You will hold a relevant project management qualification (such as PRINCE2 Practitioner) or have equivalent practical experience managing complex projects and budgets.
You will be confident working with senior managers and external partners, capable of leading multi‑disciplinary consultant teams and producing clear, high‑quality reports. Experience of transport projects is desirable, but not essential – what matters most is your ability to successfully deliver complex projects and build productive working relationships.
