We are looking for a full-time Transport Delivery Assistant to join our Transport Delivery Team on a fixed-term contract or secondment until 31 March 2029. You will provide technical and administrative support, primarily to the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure team, while occasionally supporting other areas of transport delivery.


Your new role

Reporting to the Principal Transport Delivery Project Manager, you will help support the day-to-day delivery of the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure programme. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to and investigating enquiries and complaints from residents, councillors and other stakeholders
  • Providing administrative and technical support to the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure team
  • Liaising with internal teams to support a coordinated approach to transport projects and consultations
  • Assisting with Traffic Regulation Order and Land Charges information when required
  • Supporting the preparation of reports and information for the EVI Working Group
  • Raising purchase orders, processing invoices and completing other administrative tasks
  • Ensuring work complies with relevant council procedures, policies and professional standards


Who is the person summary:

You will be organised, proactive and customer-focused, with strong communication, numerical and IT skills. You will have experience of providing advice and guidance, building effective working relationships and managing competing priorities.

You should also have:

  • Experience of working with customers and stakeholders
  • Good general IT skills, including experience of Microsoft applications
  • An understanding of financial and budget management
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A creative and practical approach to solving problems
  • A commitment to delivering excellent services and continuous improvement for Portsmouth residents

Please ensure that you read the job profile for full details on the post. We offer hybrid working with the expectation to attend the office minimum 2 days a week (pro rata for part time), this remains flexible, depending on the role and subject to business needs. /This role is based 5 days per week in the Civic Offices/other office, please ensure you can fulfil this prior to submitting your application.
