The Rough Sleeping Outreach team providers a vital service in Portsmouth to support and engage with people who may have become homeless and have resorted to sleeping rough in the city. The Outreach team goes out at different times of day, including early in the morning, to look for people sleeping rough and to help them away from the streets. The team's priority is to seek to engage with rough sleepers and check their immediate health and wellbeing, gather information about their situation, and provide further advice, support and signposting to appropriate services in the city - including Portsmouth City Council's Rough Sleeping Hub in Queen Street. People who have slept rough might find it hard to trust others because of negative experiences; it's crucial to build up trust and get to know people individually. Rough Sleeping Outreach Workers will therefore take a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to working with any individuals who may be rough sleeping, and make use of the strong partnerships with other organisations in Portsmouth to help them access accommodation and support, such as physical and mental health services, drug and alcohol services, legal support and advocacy. Reporting to the Senior Rough Sleeping Outreach Worker, you will be part of a small team which will provide the Rough Sleeping Outreach service within the city. The team will manage a caseload of clients who are known to be sleeping rough in Portsmouth. These cases are likely to require a range of interventions as part of a tailored package of support which could include assisting with benefit claims, GP registrations, exploring housing options and engaging in recovery support for addiction.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Portsmouth City Councils Housing Renewals service, which forms part of the Private Sector Housing Team. You will work proactively within the Housing Renewals team’s Home Improvement Agency service to support applicants through the adaptation process. Your role will include: •	Reviewing Occupational Therapist referrals and recommendations for adaptations, typically the removal of a bath and replacement with a level access shower. •	Visiting applicants’ in their home to assist with completing grant application forms to fund the required adaptations, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. •	Communicating with the grant applicant and the Occupational Therapist (OT) about the process and the required adaptations •	Carrying out basic visual surveys—typically of bathrooms—and recording relevant notes based on the recommendations of the Occupational Therapist. •	Using these notes to prepare a simple plan and specification for the required adaptations using standard templates. •	Contact contractors to obtain quotes for the work. •	Track the progress of the works, communicating with the contractor and the grant applicant where necessary, and check that the adaptations are completed in-line with the specification. •	Complete forms to confirm the adaptations are finalised and meet the specification, and to arrange for the payment of the grant to be processed by others. Based at Portsmouth International Port (PIP), and reporting to the Terminal Supervisor, the role works within the freight related areas of the Port, both within gate houses and outside within all areas of the Port. The main duties are: •	To control the entry and exit of vehicles to and from the Port via the site’s freight gates and as and where directed, elsewhere. The Social Housing Sector has seen considerable change in the last 2 years with the addition of new and revised regulations including a new set of consumer standards. Portsmouth Homes is undertaking a programme of change to respond to the new environment and changes in expectations from our tenants and leaseholders. The Housing Officer role can be complex and requires the ability to work with changing priorities and be flexible in approach. This role is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of housing management services to a dedicated patch serving approximately 400 homes. The role provides generic housing management services including anti-social behaviour management, arrears management including debt and benefit advice, void management and lettings and general tenancy management ensuring income maximisation, efficient letting of homes and that tenants receive great customer service throughout their tenancy. You will be based at any one of our Area Housing Offices working as part of a Repairs team. You will carry out a wide range of duties across our varied 15,000 housing stock, together with our asset portfolio of corporate operational, commercial and community assets including schools. You will predominantly be attending day to day repairs, updating stock data, evaluating and diagnosing what work is required, assessing the best options to carry out the work and issuing response repairs. The Money Adviser role provides a proactive, needs-led service to Portsmouth Homes residents and their households, focusing on complex financial, welfare benefit, and debt issues. The aim is to help residents sustain their tenancies, improve financial resilience, and complement the support offered by generic Housing Officers. Money Advisers work collaboratively within Housing Offices and the wider community, offering specialist expertise in welfare benefits, debt management, and budgeting. You will be required to manage your own caseload, assisting tenants with complex situations requiring specialist intervention, such as mandatory reconsiderations, appeals, Debt Relief Orders, and bankruptcy processes. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our repairs and maintenance teams who aspires to be a Chartered Building Surveyor. Candidates must be resilient, enthusiastic, good communicators, have excellent attention to detail and be keen to develop their building surveying skills. You will have opportunities within the teams to gain building surveying experience whilst studying part time towards a RICS accredited Building Surveying degree at one of our accredited Universities. Skills: 1.	Have the entry requirements to enrol on a BSc (Hons) Chartered Surveyor degree apprenticeship of a minimum 112 UCAS points, this can include A levels or BTEC qualifications. 2.	Have an interest in building surveying and a desire to learn and become a Chartered Building Surveyor, any knowledge and awareness of the building surveying role and skills will be an advantage. 3.	Have the capability to undertake research so that you can evaluate different building options such as products or building methods. You will be trained to prepare a specification of work, gain quotations and manage repair work. 4.	Have relevant experience of using all Microsoft packages; in particular be able to demonstrate practical IT skills using Word and Excel spreadsheets to analyse data and be able to use various software packages as part of undertaking a surveying role. You will be trained to use AutoCAD or similar drawing packages to support Building Surveyors by producing planning and building regulations drawings. 5.	Be organised and methodical when preparing and managing your own workload or undertaking surveys and have excellent attention to detail. You will be trained to carry out a range of practical surveys including stock condition surveys and how to diagnose building defects as well as assess quality of work undertaken. 6.	Be confident and a good communicator when working with all Housing staff, other departments, contractors and specifically our Local Authority Housing customers as most repairs and maintenance work is undertaken in occupation whilst our residents are living in their homes. 7.	Have excellent written skills demonstrating good spelling and grammar along with setting out and presentation skills and be proficient in communicating your point concisely within a report. 8.	Demonstrate an aptitude for understanding formal text, particularly legal text as set out in construction law. 9.	Have a positive attitude towards work, be resilient, embrace change and actively work with your colleagues to improve the service offered to customers. 10.	Demonstrate your ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve a common task and also your ability work under your own initiative. 11.	Either have a full driving licence and provide a car for work or have a commitment to learn to drive, as you will be visiting various sites across Portsmouth and will need to be able to travel effectively between them. 12.	You will be inspecting a variety of buildings with different access arrangements and will need to be physically fit.
