
Transformation and Improvement Support Apprentice
Kick start your career in Improvement and Business Growth. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Birmingham care-experienced young person to join our Improvement and Business Growth team as a Transformation and Improvement Support apprentice. The team’s core business is the provision of improvement support to other children’s services. This role is designed to help you gain valuable skills, experience, and a nationally recognised qualification while making a real difference in people’s lives.
As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced professionals and project leads. You will contribute to the promotion, organisation and professional delivery of the Trust’s sector-led support while benefiting from tailored support and mentoring. You’ll learn on the job and through structured training, with plenty of support every step of the way.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- As our expert by experience you will support the team to always hold in mind and champion children and young people’s felt experience, bringing your expert by experience perspective to all of the team’s work
- Work alongside team members (including associates) to develop and lead support offers and initiatives
- Take a leading role in the development and delivery of participation and co-production support offers and initiatives, plus any particular specific areas of personal interest
- Develop project management expertise, including improvement methodology, change management etc
- Support the development and upkeep of the team’s digital and online presence, including contributing to the effective use of virtual platforms, digital tools and online resources to promote support offers
- Support the promotion and raising awareness of the team’s participation, engagement and improvement support offers, including developing skills in communicating and presenting information effectively to a range of audiences

- Birmingham care-experienced young people (this opportunity is ringfenced for you).
- A genuine interest in helping others and making a positive impact.
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance.
No prior experience is required – full training will be provided.
