About the role
At West Northants Council, it’s about our people and the difference they make. As a Trainee Customer Advisor, you’ll be joining a supportive team where learning and development are at the heart of the role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in customer services, gain valuable experience in local government and develop the skills needed to support our residents, businesses and communities.
Unlike our Customer Service Advisor roles, which require a broader level of experience and responsibility from day one, this trainee position is designed to help you build your knowledge and confidence through hands-on experience, training and support. You'll learn about a wide range of Council services while developing the skills needed to deliver excellent customer service in a busy and rewarding environment.
Additional information
You’re enthusiastic, eager to learn and passionate about helping people. You have good communication skills, enjoy working as part of a team and take pride in providing a positive experience for customers. Whether through work, education or volunteering, you have developed an understanding of good customer service and are keen to build on this further.
You’ll be organised, willing to learn new systems and able to work accurately, paying close attention to detail. A positive attitude, strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to changing priorities will help you succeed in this role.
Most importantly, you’ll be motivated to develop your skills, contribute to your community and embody our THRIVE values in everything you do. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to start or continue your customer service career with a council that is committed to supporting your growth and development.
