About the Role

Are you committed to protecting consumers, supporting fair business, and tackling rogue traders? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join Ealing Council’s Trading Standards Team as a qualified officer. You will play a vital role in enforcing trading standards legislation, supporting businesses to achieve compliance, and safeguarding the wellbeing of residents and the local economy.

What You’ll Do

The successful candidate will be motivated, capable of independent work and able to juggle a varied workload which involves investigating complaints and taking enforcement action when required, inspecting premises, providing expert advice to businesses and carrying out projects.

About You

  • To be successful in this role you will need to be an experienced Trading Standards Officer (qualified to a minimum of the TSPC or relevant precursor)
  • Proven experience in managing and prioritising your own workload, meeting performance targets, and working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to prepare reports and legal documents.
  • The ability to work flexibly, including outside normal hours, and to manage your own wellbeing and safety in challenging environments.
  • Substantial experience in Trading Standards enforcement, complex investigations, and project management.
