About the role

Tenant Engagement Officers

We’re not just restructuring – we’re reinventing how housing services are delivered. Come and be part of the change.

About the role

Do you want to give tenants a stronger voice and help shape the future of housing services?

This is your chance to join North Northamptonshire Council’s Housing Management Service at a time of real change and investment. We are reshaping our service to be more visible, proactive and tenant-focused – and our Tenancy Engagement Officers are central to this transformation.

As a Tenancy Engagement Officer, you’ll work directly with tenants, leaseholders and communities to make sure their views are heard, acted on, and embedded into how we deliver housing services. You’ll help design and deliver engagement activities, build tenant confidence, and create opportunities for residents to influence decision-making at every level.

You will be part of a service that is:

  • Visible and connected – smaller patches, stronger links with tenants and communities.
  • Engaged and accountable – a stronger tenant voice with real influence over services.
  • Supportive and responsive – ensuring residents are involved in shaping solutions to local issues.
  • Cleaner and safer – working with colleagues and communities to improve neighbourhoods.

This is an exciting role for someone who is passionate about involvement, empowerment and partnership working.

What will you be doing?

What you will be doing

You’ll be responsible for creating opportunities for tenants to shape and influence housing services. Your work will include:

  • Building positive relationships with tenants, leaseholders and community groups.
  • Developing and delivering engagement activities, consultations and events.
  • Supporting tenants to take part in panels, forums and scrutiny groups.
  • Helping tenants influence service improvements, policy changes and local priorities.
  • Working with colleagues across housing, income, caretaking and sheltered teams to ensure services are co-designed with residents.
  • Promoting tenant engagement through newsletters, digital platforms and social media.

Ensuring that engagement activities are inclusive, accessible and representative of all tenants

About you

What will you bring to the role:

  • Passion, Resilience, Innovation, Drive and Energy – with a commitment to Working Together to Achieve Success.
  • Experience of community engagement, tenant involvement or customer participation.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the confidence to work with groups and individuals.
  • The ability to inspire trust, build confidence and encourage participation.
  • Strong organisational skills and creativity in planning events, activities and campaigns.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring that all voices are heard.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-looking housing service and play your part in ensuring tenants are engaged, empowered and at the heart of everything we do.
