An opportunity to join a well-established Tenancy Sustainment Team and gain experience in a support, advice and guidance role.

You will be responsible for supporting people to maintain their tenancies with Dacorum Borough Council, to help them understand their role and responsibilities as a tenant, how to sustain a tenancy and encourage and facilitate their independence, quality of life, health and well-being. Duties will include providing practical advice, information and support on a wide range of issues including housing, welfare rights, personal finance, life skills, social and mental health care and the promotion of personal independence. Part of your role will be advocating for and signposting our most vulnerable tenants to organisations in the public and voluntary sector.

This role within the team will focus on supporting social housing tenants who are facing barriers to maintaining their tenancies and have difficulties such as drug and alcohol addiction, mental health issues, learning difficulties, poor independent living skills, hoarding and clutter concerns and debt issues.

You will have excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with applicants, tenants, colleagues and partner organisations (both statutory and voluntary).

We are looking for a passionate and adaptable individual who is committed to enhancing the lives of some of the most vulnerable households within our society and ensuring that they can live in good quality housing.

Applicants must have a driving licence that is valid in the UK.

An Enhanced check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.

The deadline for applications will be midnight on the closing date shown in the advert details.
