    About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

    How You’ll Be Involved

In this role, you will be at the heart of Camden’s commitment to preventing homelessness and supporting residents to build more secure and stable futures. You’ll offer high‑quality, empathetic housing advice to individuals and families facing the risk of losing their homes, helping them understand their options and take practical steps to remain safely housed.

By working closely with applicants, landlords, letting agents, and a range of partner organisations, you’ll help make sure tenancies created through Camden’s PRS access schemes are not only set up properly but continue to thrive over the long term. Your casework will be person‑centred, proactive, and solution‑focused, drawing on a wide range of prevention tools to resolve housing issues before they escalate. Through this work, you’ll make a direct contribution to reducing the number of households entering temporary accommodation and supporting residents to move forward with confidence and independence.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

    All About You

To find out more about what it is like to work at Camden, meet some of our People by visiting 'www.camdenjobs.co.uk/our-stories'.

We’re looking for someone who shares Camden’s ambition to make our borough one of the best places to live and work, and who is deeply committed to supporting residents in a way that is relational, respectful and outcome‑focused. You believe strongly in housing equality and understand that having a safe, warm and stable home is the foundation of wellbeing. This belief drives your passion for preventing homelessness and helping people feel secure, supported and connected to their community.

You take a proactive approach to your work, acting early to identify issues, offering timely guidance, and ensuring residents know how to access the services and support available to them. You value accessibility and work hard to make information clear, services approachable, and processes straightforward — always going the extra mile to help residents navigate challenges confidently. When something is outside your remit, you act quickly to connect people with the right colleagues or partners who can assist. Collaboration is central to how you operate. You listen actively, communicate with warmth and clarity, and build strong relationships with colleagues, landlords, partners and the wider community. You recognise the expertise residents bring through their lived experiences, and you work with them rather than for them, ensuring their voices guide the decisions that affect their lives.

You’re confident using digital systems and tools to record information accurately and manage casework efficiently, helping the service remain consistent and transparent. You understand the importance of safeguarding, trauma‑informed practice and creating psychologically safe environments, and you approach sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism. You also bring a solid working knowledge of homelessness legislation and related policies, enabling you to advocate effectively for residents’ rights and navigate complex housing situations with confidence.

Above all, you understand that housing is about people — not just bricks and mortar — and you are motivated by the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Camden’s residents, helping ensure everyone has a place they can truly call home.
