About the role
Housing Services are responsible for managing and maintaining approximately 5000 properties including sheltered housing, temporary accommodation, and general needs tenancies across St Albans District. This post is based within our neighbourhood management team within Tenancy Services.
In this role you will be responsible for supporting the tenancy team in a range of administrative functions including allocating of enquiries from customers either in person, on email, web generated forms or by phone. Making onward referrals and signposting customers to various partner organisations where appropriate. You will also ensure the efficient and effective management of information within the service and respond to Freedom of Information requests and requests under the Data Protection Act 2018 and Environmental Information Regulations.
About you
Educated to GCSE English and Maths, Grade C and above (or equivalent) you will ideally have a housing related qualification. Demonstrable experience working in the social housing sector, in a public facing role is essential for this post. Knowledge of housing law, and the landlord responsibilities towards tenants and the wider community is desirable for this post.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working knowledge of MSOffice Suite is essential for this post. The ability to use housing software is desirable. You may be required to attend occasional evening meetings from time to time. This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Check.
