About the Service and Team
This is an exciting time to be joining the Community Housing Service at Royal Borough of Kingston where we have renewed our focus on managing our housing challenges particularly in the management of temporary accommodation. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who want to get the very best of outcomes for residents of the Borough. You will be joining a busy team managing a range of tasks in delivering excellent service where every action you take can make a positive difference to the residents we support.
About the Role and Our Ideal Candidate
The Temporary Accommodation Team is offering a Fixed Term Role until 31 March 2027 to applicants seeking to grow skills and knowledge in managing needs of residents and providers of accommodation within our homelessness and housing service.
The post is Graded F/G dependent on experience and skills and includes additional increments for participating on our out-of-hours rota to cover emergencies within our homeless hostels.
About the Role
The successful candidate will ensure the effective and efficient management of all Temporary Accommodation accommodation in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- To ensure repair and compliance within homes
- To manage relationships with homeless households in our temporary accommodation including action to assist in income recovery, investigate anti-social behaviour and where needed to recover possession
- To build and maintain relationships with providers of Temporary Accommodation.
- To identify safeguarding risks, welfare and support needs of residents and the suitability of accommodation provided
The job requires an ability to manage a complex caseload and attention to detail and excellent record keeping whilst also needing to undertake a range of property inspections, viewings and visits to customers in their current and new homes. An ability to travel between multiple properties within and outside of the borough on the same day is required. Car mileage allowance is provided.
About You
We are looking for individuals with experience in front line customer facing services with knowledge of property management with an ability to manage competing demands within a busy environment.

Salary range
- £34,998 - £43,680 per year
