Make a Real Difference to Local Families in Housing Need

This is a vital frontline role supporting households who are experiencing homelessness, ensuring they are placed into safe, suitable temporary accommodation and supported throughout their stay.

As a Temporary Accommodation Allocations Officer, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of temporary accommodation placements. Your key responsibilities will include:

Matching households to suitable temporary accommodation through thorough suitability assessments.
Coordinating the full sign‑up process, ensuring all paperwork, system updates and rent account setups are completed accurately and promptly.
Working closely with the Property Team to ensure a consistent supply of safe, compliant accommodation with all required health and safety certifications.
Managing transfers within the temporary accommodation portfolio to maximise availability and ensure efficient use of stock.
Ensuring all Housing Benefit, welfare forms and supporting documents are completed, verified and processed correctly.
Acting as the first point of contact for landlords and tenants, supporting tenancy sustainment and resolving issues as they arise
Responding to concerns, complaints or property issues and escalating to the Senior Property Manager when necessary.

To be competent in this role it is essential that you have up‑to‑date knowledge of housing legislation, homelessness duties, and landlord/tenant law, along with having:

An understanding of good property standards and common building issues.
Experience of collaborative working and building effective partnerships.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Customer‑focused approach with the ability to support vulnerable households.
