
Technical Officer Environment
Are you enthusiastic, customer-focused, technically knowledgeable, with good communication skills and enjoy delivering high quality services to improve the health and wellbeing for those who live and work in East Hertfordshire? Yes? Then you could be the person we are looking for to join our team!
What will you be doing?
- Responding to service requests and giving appropriate advice on matters relating to statutory nuisances primarily noise, odour and smoke. In addition to requests concerning pests and drainage and general public health issues.
- Undertake inspections, investigate complaints, prepare prosecution files under instruction of senior colleagues and undertake project work where directed
- You will be empowered to undertake appropriate enforcement action as necessary.
- Visit and assess venues and events using sound equipment where required
About you
- As an ideal candidate, you will have:
- A relevant qualification or experience within the discipline applied for and a working knowledge of the legislation and regulations relating to those areas.
- The ability to deal with challenging situations using tact and discretion.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work without supervision, prioritise work to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written skills, with the ability to write schedules of work, summarise accurately and convey complex information.
