
Technical Officer
Chelmsford City Council is looking to recruit a Technical Officer to help deliver our Parks and Green Spaces Service, supporting the safe, efficient and effective delivery of grounds maintenance, public rights of way work and service improvement projects.

We are seeking a motivated individual who has excellent attention to detail who are able to:
• manage compliance and have oversight of the health and safety and performance/quality control systems across the Service, including planning and managing mandatory training programmes
• supervise the public right of way maintenance teams
• project manage/commission medium sized projects across the service
We are looking for someone with good knowledge of health and safety, risk management and relevant legislation. Technical knowledge of horticulture, landscape design and management is also required. The successful applicant will be confident using IT systems and online applications, including GIS mapping or CAD systems. They will also have experience of collating data, undertaking audits, managing contractors and supporting customers to achieve positive outcomes.
Excellent team working and inter-personal skills is extremely important, as this role involves frequent liaison with operational staff, volunteers, other officers and residents.
This role is primarily office based with frequent site visits and some practical work on site. This will require some form of personal transport provided by the post holder although there are pool cars available for use when available.

Salary range
- £37,455 - £40,770 per year
