About the role

 About you:
You’ll be someone who enjoys physical outdoor work in all weather conditions and takes real pride in keeping public spaces clean and welcoming. You’ll be dependable, safety conscious, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team. A basic understanding of manual handling or grounds maintenance is helpful, but full training will be provided. Ideally, you’ll also hold a full UK driving licence (Cat: C1 + E) and be comfortable driving small vans or tippers, although this is not essential.
Ideally you would already have experience in basic children’s playground inspections such as ILAM or ROSPA although training will be provided for the right candidate.
A high degree of physical effort is required as part of this role along with the ability to carry out visual inspections of children’s playground equipment and safety surfacing.
 You’ll be part of a team that relies on each individual to play their part to the best of their ability. This is an exciting time to work for Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and High Peak Borough Council (The Alliance) as we are committed to improving parks and open spaces for the benefit of residents and visitors.
Set in the context of new strategies covering Parks and Green Spaces, Biodiversity, Climate Change and Nature Recovery, the successful candidate will work to commission services and develop projects across horticultural, grounds maintenance services and facilities which maintain or improve satisfaction, usage and visitor numbers.
We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate who has detailed knowledge and practical experience of horticultural and grounds maintenance services and in particular, a track record of driving continuous improvement to public parks and open spaces, recreational facilities and other related areas included within the scope of this position.
Overseeing effective contract monitoring practices and procedures is an important aspect of the role as the successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring several key Council contracts, as well as working closely with the service providers to deliver high quality outputs in respect of their contracts.
The successful candidate will also be required to represent The Alliance at meetings with internal and external stakeholders i.e. service users, other Council services, clients, consultants, contractors and other working groups therefore strong advocacy, interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role.
A knowledge of relevant legislation, government guidance and policies would be an advantage.

About the Role and Our Ideal CandidateSutton Housing Partnership is looking for a Tree and Voids Officer to join our organisation.&nbsp;The candidate will have to carry out tree inspection duties,&nbsp;work within the tree team daily to ensure work is carried out efficiently and undertake specified climbing arboricultural duties, including tree pruning, aerial rescue, dismantling and felling etc. Assessment and pricing of void garden and residential garden clearances. Plan and manage workload within the arboriculture team, supervise and monitor the work of colleagues on site to ensure work is carried out safely and to proper standards,&nbsp;Requirement for the role:<ul>
<li>Experience working within an arboricultural operations team</li>
<li>City and guilds CS30, CS32, CS38, CS39, CS41.</li>
<li>C1 driving licence</li>
<li>PTI qualification</li>
<li>ABC Level 2 Arboriculture qualification</li>

About the role
As a Groundsperson, you will play a key role in the upkeep and presentation of the sports pitches and facilities within the borough, operating sports turf equipment alongside other associated machinery preparing the pitches and facilities for matches and training, including fine turf areas using specialist machinery.
You will also be required to conduct a variety of other works such as supporting general grounds maintenance duties as required.
About you
As part of the Grounds Maintenance Team, you will need to have practical experience within the grounds and sports turf industry.
You will have knowledge of turf care techniques and sport-specific maintenance schedules and have the ability to operate groundskeeping machinery such as tractors with the associated attachments, mowers, line markers, aerators and rollers. You will need a strong attention to detail and a commitment to high presentation standards.
