
Team Manager - Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)
Job Description
OverviewThe London Borough of Harrow is seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
Working within a dynamic multi-agency environment, you will lead and support a team of professionals, working closely with partners including Police, Health, Education, and other agencies to deliver coordinated, high-quality, child-centred safeguarding responses.
As part of our ongoing improvement journey, you will play a key role in embedding a relationship-based, strengths-focused approach, to support clear risk analysis, balance strengths and concerns, and inform effective safety planning, while promoting a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and professional challenge.
This is a pivotal leadership role at the front door of Children’s Services, where you will oversee the effective screening of contacts and referrals, ensuring timely, proportionate, and defensible decision-making to safeguard children and young people.
About You
We are looking for a strong and compassionate leader who can demonstrate:
- Significant experience in children’s social care, with a strong safeguarding and child protection focus
- Proven experience within a MASH, front door, duty, or assessment service
- A clear commitment to relationship-based practice, recognising the importance of building meaningful engagement with children, families, and partners
- Experience of applying or embedding relationship-based/strengths-focused approaches, particularly in assessing and managing risk
- Strong leadership skills, including reflective supervision, and developing staff
- Experience of leading teams through service improvement and embedding good practice
- Confidence in making timely, balanced, and defensible decisions in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Demonstrable experience of effective multi-agency working, valuing partnership and shared responsibility
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance and any relevant reforms.
- Experience of quality assurance and auditing, with the ability to support continuous learning and improvement
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to challenge, influence, and build positive professional relationships
- An understanding of performance, demand management, and service pressures, with the ability to respond thoughtfully and strategically

Salary range
- £54,810 - £62,349 per year
