Our No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF) team plays a critical role in supporting individuals and families who are not eligible for mainstream welfare benefits or housing assistance. We ensure they receive the guidance and resources necessary to thrive, through empowerment, promoting independence and reducing the need for statutory support. We are also dedicated to a holistic approach, incorporating the Circle of Support in Newham to strengthen community-based interventions and ensure long-term positive outcomes.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated social work qualified NRPF Team Manager to lead and oversee our NRPF services. This role requires strong leadership and the ability to manage a team of skilled professionals while ensuring high-quality service delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both NRPF and Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) operations and a clear understanding of Newham’s Circle of Support approach to effectively coordinate services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the NRPF team, providing guidance, support, and supervision to ensure effective service delivery.
- Develop and implement strategies and policies to improve outcomes for individuals and families with NRPF status and IH status.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including social services, housing, legal departments, voluntary agencies and MASH partners, to ensure coordinated, person-centred support.
- Embed the Circle of Support model in Newham, ensuring a holistic approach that empowers individuals through community and multi-agency networks.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to NRPF and safeguarding.
- Provide expert advice and training on NRPF, MASH, and Circle of Support principles to colleagues and partner agencies.
About You:
- Proven experience in managing teams within a social work, safeguarding, or related setting, with significant NRPF and MASH experience.
- Strong understanding of NRPF policies, Housing legislations, MASH operations, and safeguarding legislation.
- Experience in implementing and working within the Circle of Support framework or equivalent.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse team and engage with multiple agencies.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing complex cases and ensuring timely interventions.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and be proactive
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrate high practice standards, be dynamic and analytical
- Relevant qualifications in social work, public policy, or a related field.
- You will have the ability to devise strategies to ensure you have oversight and grip of the children and families in the team
- You will have excellent data literacy skills and or willing to learn this
