Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Clare Mount Specialist Sports College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate One-to-One (1:1) Teaching Assistant to support a KS3 pupil
About the Role:
Provide one-to-one support for an autistic 11-year-old male pupil
Support access to the curriculum, adapt learning resources, and promote communication and social skills
Implement behaviour strategies and provide visual supports
Provide personal care (toileting, hygiene, changing) with dignity and in line with safeguarding and care plans
Promote and support the development of independence skills as appropriate
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
Monitor and record progress, attend meetings, and support transitions between lessons
About You:
Experience working with autistic children or those with additional needs
Training in safeguarding, first aid, and personal care (or willingness to undertake training)
Knowledge of autism-specific strategies (e.g, sensory regulation)
Patience, strong observation and communication skills
Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and supporting positive pupil outcomes
