The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children with complex SEND (desirable but not essential), a relevant Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning orequivalent, strong interpersonal and communication skills, patience, empathy and a positive attitude, a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and a willingness to undertake further training, including in Team Teach or other positive handling approaches.

Previous applicants need not apply at this time. We are seeking a committed, compassionate, and resilient Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join our dedicated team at Elleray Park School. We are a nurturing and inclusive primary special school for pupils with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

You will work alongside teachers and other professionals to provide high-quality support to pupils with a range of needs, including autism, severe learning difficulties, communication needs, and sensory or physical disabilities.

The successful applicant will provide support pupils as part of a team to meet their learning, emotional, and behavioural needs.

Support pupils with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility (training provided).

Use specialist strategies, communication systems such as PECS, and assistive technology to promote pupil engagement and independence.

Work closely with class teachers to implement EHCP targets and differentiated lesson plans.

Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation using school policies and de-escalation strategies.

Maintain a safe, secure and stimulating learning environment.

Assist in the preparation of learning resources and classroom organisation.
