Teaching Assistant Level 2 / Welfare Assistant

Required for September 2025

Number on Roll 748 including Nursery

The Governors are looking to appoint a committed Teaching Assistant Level 2.

The contract is fixed term until 31st August 2026 due to funding.

The TA2 contract is for 32.5 hours per week and will be 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday. The Welfare contract is for 2.5 hours per week and is for 30 minutes per day, plus a 30 minute lunch break.

The candidate will:

  • Establish good working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model
  • Be aware of and respond appropriately to individual pupil needs ensuring effective interaction
  • Provide specific support to pupils, dependent upon their individual needs ensuring their safety whilst supporting access to learning activities
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
  • Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • Promote self-esteem and independence
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance and direction of the teacher
  • Be familiar with the school assessment policy and Early Years pedagogy
  • Assist with the display of children’s work
  • In liaison with the teacher, utilise strategies to support pupils in achieving learning goals
  • Establish positive relationships with parents/carers
  • Prepare and maintain resources required for the learning environment

Due to the nature of work the above post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and relevant care/safeguarding legislation and appointment will only be confirmed if a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure is obtained from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).
