    What is the job role?

    The governors of Wyken Croft Primary School are excited to offer a position of Teaching Assistant within our Early Years to commence in September 2026. Wyken Croft provides an excellent environment for all of the stakeholders of the school. Although we are a large primary school in Coventry, we pride ourselves on knowing each child and family individually allowing our children to achieve their maximum potential.     Who are we looking for?

    The successful candidate will be expected to;

    • Supervise and support the teaching activities of individuals or groups of children/young people to ensure their safety and facilitate in their physical and emotional development.
    • Undertake those activities necessary to meet the physical and emotional needs of individuals and groups of children/young people, including those pupils with special educational, physical or emotional needs.
    • Monitor individual pupil's progress, achievements, problems and condition, reporting to the responsible teacher as appropriate.
    • Actively engage in the pre-determined educational activities and work programmes at a basic level. including the administration of baseline tests, and the use of information technology as appropriate.

    The successful candidate will need to:

    • Be an exemplary practitioner with a love for learning
      Be motivated and committed to supporting young people in their school environment.
      Have an excellent working knowledge of the curriculum with a drive to support the outcomes of our children within additional needs, their families and staff.
    • Be committed to promoting the welfare of and safeguarding of our children
