Salary: TA 2 £17,814 - £18,096 per annum
Hours: 29 hours and 20 Minutes a week, 8.15 am – 3.00 pm
Contract: Permanent / Term time only Plus TED days
Exciting opportunities have arisen to join our welcoming, committed and dedicated team of Teaching Assistants at Westacre Middle School. We are a successful and popular middle school that prides itself on offering a strong primary ethos. Westacre is a school with inclusion at its heart, which was officially recognised when the Inclusion Quality Mark awarded us their Flagship Status in December 2025.
We are keen to recruit Teaching Assistants who are committed to our primary ethos and place child centred relationships at the heart of their daily work; our current vacancy is predominantly based within a class but also involves supporting children across our 3-year groups.
Our Teaching Assistants work 8.15 am – 3.00 pm Monday – Friday including one break duty per week of 20 minutes. They also play a vital role as part of the Lunchtime Supervision team, supporting positive and structured play three times a week during lunch breaks, on a rota basis.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Work in classes under the direction of a teacher providing one to one focused support or supporting small groups.
- Prepare and organise pre-planned resources to support small group teaching and specialist interventions as required across the 3-year groups
- Contribute to an after-school club activity, for which payment is in addition to the stated salary
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills and warmth to build strong and supportive relationships with our children, families, team and community.
- Share his/her own learning and inspire learning in others
- Be a flexible and excellent team player.
