St Anne's is a warm, inclusive primary serving a community with high levels of disadvantage. Our mission is 'Loving and Learning Together in Harmony with Christ' and we expect all staff to support our values: Respectful, Responsible, Resilient, Reliable and Reflective. We provide a nurturing, therapeutic environment where children can thrive.

We are seeking an experienced, caring Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our KS1 team for two days each week (Thursday and Friday). The post will focus on supporting classroom learning, behaviour and well being for children, including those who are disadvantaged or have SEND.

Key responsibilities:

Work under the direction of the class teacher to support high-quality learning in Year 2, adapting support to meet individual needs.

Deliver targeted small-group and one-to-one support (including structured interventions) as directed, ensuring work matches the planned curriculum.

Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence using the school's approaches and values.

Support access to the curriculum for pupils with SEND and for those who face barriers to learning.

Assist with routine classroom tasks (preparing resources, supervising activities)

Contribute to record-keeping: report on pupils' progress, behaviour and well being to the class teacher.

Support safe play, lunch or breaktimes if required on duty days, and model positive interactions.

Application forms for the above post are available online at www.wirral.gov.uk and also from the school office. Please return completed application forms with a supporting letter to the Headteacher at the school address.

Closing Date: 02 October 2026 at noon.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Level DBS check.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All applicants will be considered on the basis of suitability for the post regardless of sex, race or disability.
