Job Title: Teaching Assistant Grade 1 with SEN Support
Salary: £17,975 per annum + Special Needs Allowance
Grade Scale: TA1 – SCP3 +SNA
Contract: Fixed Term 5 days per week 28.75 hours Term Time only plus 5 TED
Start Date: September 2026
Location: St. Andrew's C of E First School, Hewell Road, Barnt Green, B45 8NG
An exciting opportunity has become available to join St Andrew’s C of E First School as a member of the Teaching Assistant team on a fixed term basis to support a specific child on a 1:1 basis with Special Education Needs.
We are a very popular school, catering for pupils between 4 and 9 years of age. We encourage the children to care and support one another and aim to provide a family atmosphere where children can achieve their full potential.
Main Purpose:
We are looking for an individual with enthusiasm and a passion for helping others who will:
- Be responsible (under the direct supervision and control of the classroom teacher) for the care, education and welfare of a pupil with Special Educational Needs.
- Enable the child supported to gain the fullest possible access to the curriculum and to ensure adherence to the specific provision arrangements outlined by Education specialists.
- Be enthusiastic, have effective communication skills, a good sense of humour and be able to work well under pressure;
- Have patience and problem-solving skills, the ability to deal professionally with challenging situations;
- Be committed to safeguarding all children
- Be a team player with ability to take the initiative where appropriate and be fully immersed in the life of the school.
- Motivate to inspire others in the pursuit of excellence;
- Promote inclusion as the heart of school improvement.
