The children, staff, and Governing Body at Holmgate Primary School and Nursery are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and inspiring Teaching Assistant to join our Key Stage 1 team.

We are looking for a committed, positive, and supportive team player who is passionate about helping children succeed and thrive in their early learning journey. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support learning in the classroom, with a particular focus on phonics, maths, and targeted interventions for individuals and small groups.

This role will involve:

  • Supporting high-quality phonics teaching and practice
  • Assisting with the delivery of maths learning in class
  • Leading or supporting intervention programmes to help pupils make progress
  • Providing nurturing and consistent support to help children develop confidence and independence

When applying, candidates are encouraged to outline their experience of working in Key Stage 1, particularly any involvement in phonics, maths, or intervention support.
