Required to begin from 1st April 2026 ideally. However, school will be flexible on the starting date for the right candidate, to accommodate notice periods/current employment obligations. This can be discussed further at interview and upon appointment.
The Governors of St Anne’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint a SENDCO who will also be the leader of Inclusion as a member of our Leadership Team.
Our SENDCO will be an excellent teacher and inspirational leader with vision and passion for Inclusion to ensure that all children with all levels of need achieve their very best.
This post has a part time teaching commitment working in a team of 4 staff with 7 early years children with the rest of the time daily, dedicated to the role of SENDCO.
The postholder will work closely with the school Pastoral Manager, Wellbeing and Welfare Manager, Attendance Manager and SLT as part of the school’s Wellbeing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a committed and supportive team who work effectively together to achieve the best for our children at St Anne’s.
Our school has recently completed the TPC Award for ‘Teaching Positive Connections’ Therapeutic School’s Award. We are also involved in the Autism in School’s project wave 1 with the borough - as part of the National Autistic Society’s award for schools.

Main purpose
The SENDCO, under the direction of the Headteacher, will:
* Determine the strategic development of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) policy and provision in the school
* Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEND, including all aspects of the referral process.
* Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other external agencies
* Identify targeted CPD for staff in line with school SEND priorities in collaboration with the Headteacher.
* Monitor with SLT the provision across the school for children with SEND, including interventions and targeted support programmes.
* Track the progress and attainment of children with SEND across the school.
* Encourage excellent communication between home and school for children with SEND
The SENDCO will also be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
