MPS/UPS (Plus SEN1)
As The Observatory School continues to grow, we are seeking to appoint a dedicated and
reflective Classroom Teacher to join our team at Solar Campus.
Solar Campus provides a small, structured and relationship-led environment for pupils whose placements in a larger secondary setting have broken down, and who require high levels of consistency, care and support.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of School, Senior Teacher and wider
Solar team to deliver high-quality teaching, contribute to a stable learning environment, and support pupils with complex social, emotional and mental health needs.
Solar offers a bespoke curriculum designed to ensure that our cohort receive an education that prepares them for their post 16 destinations whilst enabling them to complete formal qualifications in core subjects, there are also opportunities to achieve vocational qualifications.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that meet the needs of a small cohort of pupils, adapting your approach to support regulation, re-engagement and progress.
You will be expected to contribute positively to the wider life of Solar Campus, working collaboratively with teaching assistants and external professionals.

Is passionate about inclusive education and committed to supporting vulnerable pupils
Has strong classroom practice and can adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs
Understands the importance of consistency, boundaries and relationships in SEMH settings
Communicates effectively with colleagues, pupils and families
Is reflective, resilient and willing to learn within a challenging but highly rewarding
environment
Your professional integrity, emotional intelligence and ability to remain calm and reflective under pressure will be just as important as your subject knowledge and teaching experience.

professionally as the provision continues to evolve.
