Lyme Community Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and creative Early Years or KS1 Teacher to join our friendly and committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment where professional development is encouraged, and every child is valued.

The role will include Teaching in Early Years/ KS1 with responsibility for an area of the curriculum. The Governing Body welcome applications from Teachers with relevant experience across the primary age range.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach an Early Years/KS1 class, delivering engaging, well-sequenced learning that builds pupils’ knowledge and skills.

• Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports the learning and well-being of all pupils.

• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND so that all pupils make strong progress.

• Work closely with the EYFS/KS1 team, SENCo and senior leaders to implement the school improvement priorities.

• Maintain accurate assessment and records; contribute to pupil progress meetings and communication with families.

• Maintain a positive and engaging learning atmosphere.

The successful candidate will:

  • Experience in teaching Early Years.
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Be an outstanding teacher with a positive attitude and the highest expectations of pupils' attainment and behaviour.
  • Experience or clear understanding of effective approaches for pupils with SEND and who are disadvantaged.
  • Be passionate and knowledgeable about primary provision with evidence of outstanding teaching and learning.
  • Be supportive of our inclusive ethos and sensitive to the needs of our children and families.
  • Have high aspirations for all children, themselves, and a desire to raise standards.
  • Be committed to the safeguarding, welfare, and personal development of young people.
