    Are you a confident surveyor and have good problem solving skills? Do you have experience in managing residential void work using SOR codes? Do you have experience in disrepair claims?

    What’s the role?

    To inspect private sector accommodation and determine its’ suitability to be leased to the council to accommodate homeless families. To provide specialised technical support to the temporary accommodation service, prepare the hostels capital program, housing acquisition program and private sector leasing program ensuring works are completed to a satisfactory standard.

    What we’re looking for:

    We’re looking for a technically skilled and proactive professional to provide expert support within our Accommodation Supply and Resettlement Service. The role involves inspecting and assessing housing properties, advising on repairs and maintenance, issuing and managing works orders, and ensuring all projects comply with Council standards, procurement policies, and Health and Safety regulations. You’ll manage budgets, oversee contractors, and support disrepair investigations while ensuring value for money and maintaining property quality and compliance. Strong analytical, communication, and record-keeping skills are essential, along with the ability to conduct risk assessments, prepare technical reports, and handle complex stakeholder interactions. The ideal candidate will bring surveying expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to improving asset performance, reducing void times, and delivering high-quality accommodation for residents.

    Location

    The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

    Salary

    £52,269 - £54,360 per annum (PO4)

    N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
