The role:
- The role of Sustainability and Net Zero Projects Officer will provide project support across the Council’s sustainability and net zero portfolio, covering decarbonisation of buildings, clean energy and heat, green transport, waste and recycling, and biodiversity initiatives. Delivery of multiple, diverse projects from inception to closure within agreed time, quality and cost parameters, including setting up core project documents, managing risks and issues, overseeing budgets and suppliers, and reporting against KPIs such as carbon reduction, social value and cost savings
- In the role of a Sustainability and Net Zero Projects Officer, you will shape and define projects, establish effective governance, plan and track delivery, compile clear progress updates, and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, suppliers and consultants. The role will report to the Sustainability & Net Zero Programme Delivery Manager within the Capital Projects & Sustainability directorate and contribute directly to the Council Plan and wider social value
- Your demonstrable knowledge as a PRINCE2‑qualified (and/or equivalent experience) project professional with a strong understanding of sustainability and Net Zero, combined with excellent communication, analytical skills, time management and stakeholder collaboration, will enable success
- The role operates in a hybrid environment with our officers based out of the Cunard Building in Liverpool City Centre and requires clear accountability for value for money, effective governance, health and safety and equal opportunities across all work

Salary range
- £51,356 - £56,673 per year
