At Dacorum Borough Council, we are committed to providing safe, supportive, and high-quality housing services for individuals who need extra help to live independently. We empower residents to build confidence, develop life skills, and take positive steps toward a brighter future.

We are seeking a compassionate, proactive Supported Housing Officer to join our team on a Fixed Term basis. You will work directly with residents to ensure their housing needs are met while supporting them to achieve greater independence. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.

You will be using your initiative, resolving day-to-day issues, mainly working at sites alone (although working within guidelines) where you will have your own designated office. There will be regular meetings with your line manager plus contact with other members of the team daily. This can be a rewarding and sociable role, and you will also be part of a friendly and supportive team.

You must be able to relate to people at all levels, including those with complex needs, and have excellent, diplomatic and clear communication skills. You must be able to maintain accurate computerised records and write clear and concise reports in accordance with our policies and procedures, plus always maintain confidentiality. You must be able to remain effective and calm if emergencies arise.

Applicants must have a driving licence that is valid in the UK.

An Enhanced check will be undertaken with the Disclosure and Barring Service to ensure that the successful candidate has no relevant convictions.

The deadline for applications will be midnight on the closing date shown in the advert details.
