A TLR 2c is available for a suitably experienced and ambitious leader to undertake, in addition, the role of Whole School Strategic Lead for Vocational Education.

This additional responsibility offers an exciting opportunity to shape and drive the strategic vision for vocational education across the school. Working closely with senior leaders, the successful candidate will lead the development, quality assurance and promotion of vocational pathways, ensuring a high-quality and ambitious curriculum that supports outstanding student outcomes and progression opportunities.

Popular, Successful and Growing

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring, ambitious and highly effective Subject Leader of Health & Social Care to lead and develop this successful and expanding curriculum area.

The subject provides students with valuable knowledge and skills that prepare them for progression into healthcare, social care, mental health, early years, nursing, teaching and a wide range of related professions.

As Subject Leader, you will have the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the department, ensuring a high-quality curriculum, excellent teaching and learning, and outstanding student outcomes.

The Department

At Key Stage 4, students follow the OCR Cambridge National in Health and Social Care, with two teaching groups in both Year 10 and Year 11.

At Sixth Form, students can progress onto:

  • OCR Cambridge Advanced National in Health and Social Care (Level 3 Alternative Academic Qualification)
  • OCR Cambridge Advanced National in Mental Health: Individuals and Society (Level 3 Alternative Academic Qualification)

The department is well-positioned for further growth and development, offering an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is passionate about raising the profile of Health & Social Care and expanding Post-16 provision.

Working within a collaborative and supportive faculty, you will benefit from strong professional relationships, shared expertise and a culture of continuous improvement.
