St Helens has a new Housing Strategy and Local Plan which together set out the Council’s vision for housing in the borough Quality and Accessible Homes for All
We are now looking for an ambitious, dynamic candidate with relevant experience to lead on the development and implementation of the Council’s strategic housing initiatives.
The successful applicant will work with stakeholders internally and externally to bring forward market led and affordable housing development opportunities within the borough and help turn vision in to reality.
You will work with colleagues and partners to ensure a coherent cross-tenure approach to the Council’s housing policies and strategies and ensure our borough’s ambitious plans become reality.
You will also work across the Housing and Growth teams to achieve quality homes of the right type in the right locations to meet the needs of existing residents and those looking to move to the borough.
The above combined with our need for sustainability, working towards net zero and linking with active travel, means there has never been a more important time to get housing development right.
Applicants will need to demonstrate that they are able to establish strong relationships and networks with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including developers and housing professionals.
You will show a drive and commitment and a willingness to learn and adapt. In return, we offer flexible working allowing you to hybrid work from home as well as from an office setting.

Salary range
- £42,708 - £44,711 per year
