Salary Range- SSA Sc6 - Sc4 £32,841-£38,637

Objective of Role
To provide an efficient, reliable and customer-focused stores service that supports operational teams by ensuring materials, plant and equipment are available, correctly issued, accurately recorded and safely stored. The role contributes to effective service delivery across Richmond and Wandsworth by maintaining stock control, supporting purchasing and deliveries, keeping stores areas clean, secure and organised, and complying with health and safety requirements.
About the Role
The role is responsible for ensuring that highways and building materials, plant and equipment are available, safely stored, accurately issued and properly recorded to support operational teams across Richmond and Wandsworth.
The post holder will assist with receiving deliveries, loading and unloading vehicles, maintaining stock levels, updating stores systems, supporting purchasing activity and keeping the stores and depot areas clean, secure and well organised. The role requires a practical, flexible and customer-focused approach, with the ability to work safely, manage competing demands and contribute to an efficient and responsive service.
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Training- Willingness to undertake training for a counterbalance forklift truck and JCB/loading shovel licence.
Experience of working in a stores, warehouse, depot, logistics, building materials, highways or similar operational environment
Literacy and Numeracy Skills- Basic literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to record stock, complete paperwork and use stores systems accurately
Conflicting deadlines- The ability to work to deadlines and manage a caried daily workload.
Health & Safety- Experience of working safely around vehicles, plant, machinery, materials or equipment
Stakeholder relationships- Experience of dealing with suppliers, operatives, contractors or internal customers
Stock taking- experience receiving, checking, issuing and recording stock or materials
