Start for Life Community Co-ordinator – Help Give Every Child the Best Start
Grade G | Based in Family Hubs Across Sefton | Permanent | Full-Time

Are you passionate about supporting families and giving children the best possible start in life? Sefton Council is looking for a proactive and community-focused Start for Life Community Co-ordinator to join our Children’s Services team.

In this exciting role, you’ll work across Family Hubs, Early Years, and Public Health to ensure families with children aged 0–5 can access consistent, evidence-based advice and support. You’ll help shape and promote Sefton’s “Ready to Learn” approach, build strong partnerships, and support the delivery of play, learning, and wellbeing opportunities across the borough.

What you’ll do:

  • Promote key messages around child development, parenting, and early learning
  • Coordinate and support baby and toddler groups, family play sessions, and volunteer programmes
  • Work collaboratively with schools, nurseries, health services, and community organisations
  • Map local provision, identify gaps, and help shape new services
  • Support safeguarding and inclusion across all early years activities

  • Competitive salary - Grade G: SCP 20–25 £31,586 - £35,235(pay award pending),

What we’re looking for:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years or a related field
  • Experience working with families and in multi-agency settings
  • Strong communication, coordination, and community engagement skills
  • A passion for early intervention and reducing inequalities
  • Confidence using digital tools and managing information
