We are recruiting a Sports and Facilities Coordinator at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 21.5 hours – evenings and weekends
Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time
Location: Pontllanfraith

Caerphilly County Borough Council Leisure Services Department are pleased to offer an exciting chance to join the team at our brand-new leisure facility in Pontllanfraith.

The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing the operation of the leisure Centre and will act as the main point of contact for the facility. Supervision of all other facility staff is a key part of this role.

You will support the safe and effective day-to-day management of the facility by positively contributing to the experience of the facility’s partners and service users and ensure the delivery of the service meets the needs and expectations of the users and key partners. You will promote the facility and identify opportunities for new activities in line with the services mission statement, more people more active more often, whilst ensuring the full and varied programme of activities are managed effectively, safely and punctually in accordance with agreed operating standards and procedures. You will also be responsible for the development of an excellent operational partnership with the on-site school (key partner).

Other key duties include the effective monitoring of financial budgets to ensure the facility operates within defined financial targets and spending limits (in partnership with your area team leader). The role will also require an effective understanding of IT systems, including the Plus 2 customer database and booking system.

Due to the opening hours of the facility, working hours of the role are exclusively evenings and weekends. Opening and closing of the site will be a key responsibility, as will assisting in the setting up and take down of equipment for facility users.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A relevant level 3 qualification (Credit & Qualifications Framework for Wales)
  • Level 3 First Aid at Work certification (to be achieved within a month of starting and training can be arranged)
  • Safeguarding Children & Adults (training can be arranged)
