An exciting opportunity has arisen within our school-based Redbridge SEND Advisory and Training Service (SENDATS).

SENDATS is a large multi-disciplinary Specialist Advisory Teacher team of over 100 staff members over 5 teams consisting of 5 Deputy Heads, 5 Senior Teachers and a Head of Service supported by a team of approximately 64 Advisory Specialist Teachers, 14 HTLA’s and 5 technicians.

We have a short video here to give you a flavour of us and what we do:

We are looking to appoint a highly self-motivated individual to support SENDATs to develop and expand our service. The service is re-focussing its priorities, moving away from supporting children and young people with EHCPs towards a more flexible early intervention model.

The post holder will benefit from expertise and experience in working with children who have Autism/Social Communication needs and related co-occurring conditions. We are looking for an experienced teacher who has taught across different phases of education, supporting students with a range of additional learning needs. Advisory Teachers need to be well-versed in best practice strategies and supports to improve the inclusion of learners with SEND, and able to advise and model these strategies to school staff.

If you have been a SENCO, Specialist Teacher or SEND Teacher and have experience in delivering training and interventions, or similar experience, then this may be the opportunity for you. We are looking for people who can provide a positive, open and creative problem-solving approach to add to our already extensive skill base. In return, we can offer you wide ranging training and a supportive ethos which we feel will develop your professional knowledge.

No two days will ever be the same in SENDATS so if you are looking for a new challenge come and join us!

Interviews will be held on Monday 20th April 2026.

References will be requested in advance for all shortlisted candidates.

For further information or if you wish to speak informally to a member of team, please email sendats@redbridge.gov.uk and a team member will respond.

To apply for this post please complete the online application form and attach your CV and a Covering Letter addressing how you meet the criteria for the role as stated in the person specification.

All short-listed applicants will need to demonstrate proof of right to work in the UK.

We are committed to employment practices that promote diversity and inclusion in employment and welcome applications from qualified applicants regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sex, marriage and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity status, colour, race, religion, or belief.
